About coodgycoodgycoo

When my stepsister had a baby girl, I looked everywhere for a personalised fleece blanket to give her as a gift. After looking in local shops and trawling endlessly through the Internet, it seemed to me that the majority of personalised blankets on offer had a limited range of designs with computer generated, machine embroidered names, dates and motifs. I wanted to give something really special; something that stood out from the crowd and would be unique. So, as I come from a fashion design background and have a wealth of experience in the retail industry, I decided to design and make one myself.

The response I got made me think that there was a gap in the market for high quality, personalised fleece blankets, where the customer could become involved in the design resulting in something unique. I designed a range of letters, numbers and motifs, perfected the appliqué and layered edge construction and came up with the ordering approach - 6 Simple Steps to Designing Your Own Blanket. As word spread and orders began to come in, the coodgycoodgycoo brand was born.

I design, hand cut, make and hand finish all the blankets myself in my studio at home in Hertfordshire, and am passionate about providing something that is unique and special and yet practical and hardwearing, that will be treasured for years to come.

Thanks

The launch of coodgycoodgycoo would not be possible without the huge support of our friends and family.

In particular, thanks go to my talented photographer husband who took all of the gorgeous photographs on this website. Why not have a look at his website, which is www.robinjwarren.com.

I'd also like to thank our lovely neighbours Claire, Tim and their gorgeous baby Isabelle for letting us use Isabelle's nursery for some of the photography.

Finally, thanks go to numerous friends and the designers of this website, all of whom have contributed their ideas and thoughts, and of course to everyone that has bought a blanket so far... you know who you are!
